Sudanese Refugees in Chad

After 20 months of conflict, Sudan has the largest displacement crisis in the world. More than 7.6 million people have fled since recent conflict began, with 640,000 going to neighbouring Chad. They salvage sticks and plastic sheets for shelter. In Darfur, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group is fighting the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). The USA has accused the RSF of committing genocide, and sanctioned its leader. Civilians are frequently targeted, with thousands arriving in Chad with bullet wounds to the legs and psychological trauma, trademarks of RSF violence.
